Manga Haul!

I can't help but spend an entire paycheck anytime I'm at Kinokuniya, a Japanese bookstore in NYC. I recently signed up for a membership card (10% off!!); so, I have quite the haul. I read manga very infrequently but lately I find it very entertaining! I hope to expand my manga collection with different volumes to complete sets and new series I might enjoy. This time I purchased: I'm Sakamoto (Vol. 1), Hozuki no Reitetsu (Vol. 10), nichijou (Vol. 2), Boku no Hero Academia (Vol. 13), and Hidoku Shinaide (Vol. 1, 2, and plus+). By the time I'm actually getting to write this post, I've already read most of what I bought.

I was excited to read the first volume of Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto. I saw this manga last time I was at Kinokuniya but passed on it; I decided to pick it up this time around and give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this one. It was a slice of life full of slap stick comedy and a very lovable character, Sakamoto. I'm hoping I can complete the series with all four volumes. I was so excited about this manga that I read a few interviews with the mangaka, Nami Sano. She seems to care a lot about her manga's characters and storylines, a sure sign of a well produced comic. Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto is also a 12 episode anime with a score of 7.68 on MAL.

nichijou is another comedy slice of life. However, nichijou is much less realistic that Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto. nichijou follows students who often forget their homework or speak in random languages, a robot who has different apparatus' in each limb; created by her kid scientist who just wants strawberry milk, and features a principle wrestling a deer? This manga is confusing at times and most jokes fly over my head but it is a funny story nonetheless. I originally decided to read this manga after watching clips of the anime. I believe there are 13 Volumes in the manga series and 26 episodes in the anime.

Image result for maya and nemuHidoku Shinaide is my favorite yaoi manga. It has and always will be number one in my heart. The story, the characters, the drama, the love.. everything in this yaoi is perfect. I've probably read this story at least 17 times. I'm so happy to finally have a physical copy of this masterpiece. I believe this manga has 5 volumes translated and one extra. I can't say enough good things about this yaoi, if you are a yaoi fan and have yet to read it, I recommend it 112%!! Volume 7 is breaking my heart right now, I love my boys so much (♥ω♥*) They deserve all the happiness in the world.

Have you read any of these? Which manga would you recommend?
